Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost?
The full training is for 3 days and costs $585 in Adelaide and $685 in regional locations
Is it possible to do a one day course?
Yes, we have a single module one day course that covers the legislative requirements and basic roles and responsibilities. The full course is 4 modules. The one day option costs $250 in Adelaide and $350 in regional areas.
Is the course part of a nationally accredited qualification?
While three of the modules are designed around nationally accredited programs, it is specifically structured to meet the needs of the WorkCover legislation in South Australia and is not meant to be part of the national framework. If you would like it to be assessed as part of the national framework let us know and we will check if that is possible.
Are there any discounts?
Where you register 5 or more participants we offer a 10% discount.
Does the course include lunch?
Light lunch and morning and afternoon tea is provided at all venues.
What qualifications do your presenters have?
All of the presenters have at least 5 years' experience in the South Australian WorkCover scheme as well as a Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment.
Do we have to pay GST on top of the fee?
No. Some training does not incur GST, in other cases our rate is GST inclusive.
Where will the regional training be held?
We will be holding sessions in the Riverland (Renmark Hotel, Renmark), the South East (Lakes Resort, Mount Gambier), the Barossa Valley (Novotel Barossa Valley Resort, Rowland Flat) , and the Iron Triangle (Whyalla venue to be determined) regions.
Can I have prior learning or competencies recognised?
Yes. In accordance with AWC/Effective Recognition of Prior Learning Policy candidates will be able to submit a portfolio of evidence for assessment and the outcome will determine the training to be undertaken. Evidence may include direct credit transfers, other prior learning or current competencies as they relate to required learning outcomes and assessment criteria. RPL assessment is charged at 50% of the full fee rate normally charged for the course or unit of competency to be assessed.
Is it compulsory?
The legislation requires that every employer with 30 or more employees in South Australia should have a suitably trained Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator. The training can vary depending on the risk rating of the employer but needs to be provided by a WorkCover approved training organisation.
What are the two levels of training?
Level 1 – 1 Day Course
Employers who are required to appoint a co-ordinator and who are deemed 'low risk' (excluding self-insured employers) must ensure that the co-ordinator satisfactorily completes Level 1 training.
Level 2 – 3 Day Course
Any other employers who are required to appoint a co-ordinator must ensure that the coordinator satisfactorily completes Level 2 training.
An employer with an industry base levy rate of less than 4.5% will be deemed to be 'low risk' for the purpose of these guidelines.
